What we cover

Three things. We act as Employer of Record for companies that want staff in Hong Kong without a Hong Kong company. We incorporation Hong Kong companies for the ones who decide they want one after all. And we run payroll for companies that already employ here and would rather someone else carried the MPF and IR56 deadlines.

Most companies arrive needing the first and, over a year or two, come to need the other two as they incorporate and grow. We rank ten providers in each category on the same criteria.

How we rank

Every provider is scored on eight criteria: Hong Kong entity ownership, Hong Kong presence, MPF and IR56 capability, visa sponsorship, pricing, support model, scale and independent evidence. We check the Companies Registry where we can and state plainly where we cannot. Scores are our assessment; they are opinions, not measurements. See the

We publish guides that rank ourselves against competitors on stated criteria, disclose that we are doing so, and say where they beat us. If a competitor is the better fit, the guide should make that obvious.

What we believe about employing in Hong Kong

It should be simple, because it is

Hong Kong is a light-touch employer jurisdiction. A provider that makes it feel complicated is either not based here or is charging you for complexity it invented. We mark providers down for both.

Deadlines are the whole job

MPF by the 10th, wages within seven days, IR56E within three months, IR56F a month before departure. Every deadline has a penalty. A provider that gets them right every month is worth more than one with a better app, and we weight accordingly.

One employer, one point of accountability

If your employee has a problem, they should be able to name their employer, and it should be a Hong Kong company with people in Hong Kong. We state for every provider whether that is true, and treat refusal to say as a mark against.

Legal and tax information on this site is general and reflects our understanding of Hong Kong at the time of writing. It is not advice. Confirm anything that matters with the provider and with local counsel before you sign.
